This book is dedicated to the memory of Henry Clinton Mackall, April 6, 1927 - July 7, 2009.  Henry served as Governor of the Washington & Northern Virginia Company of the Jamestowne Society and as Governor of the national Jamestowne Society.

The Washington & Northern Virginia Company published this book in May 2010, and introduced it to the members of the Company at a special gathering over brunch on June 27, 2010 -- at the Fort Belvoir Officers' Club in Virginia.  The essays were written by Rav Marshall during his 18-year tenure as Governor of the Washington & Northern Virginia Company of the Jamestowne Society – and for a few years afterwards.  Publication of the essays as a book was suggested by Henry Mackall several years earlier, and the brunch ended with a “book signing” by Rav Marshall.  Each member of the Company received a gratis copy of the book.
